Houn Valley Little Athletics Centre was established on September 19, 1983, with five Clubs forming the Centre; Cygnet, Dover, Franklin, Geeveston and Huonville. Richard Causon was instrumental in establishing the Centre, his vision and network of contacts within the community enabled the development of Little Athletics in the Huon Valley. The first season began on October 8, 1983 at the Huonville Recreation Ground.

In 2010/2011 season Huon Valley Little Athletics Centre became one Club. The Committee found that most athletes were registering with the Huonville Club and the affiliated clubs were struggling for numbers and committee members as a result. Tassal became a major sponsor of the Centre. To recognise Tassal’s support a new centre top, consisting of Tassal colours and the Tassal logo on the left sleeve, was designed.

Huon Valley Little Athletics Centre would not be where it is today without the continued support of Tassal, Huon Valley local businesses, the Huon Valley Council, community members, our volunteers and committee members, past and present athletes and our Life Members.
